Celebrate the Emmett Cherry Festival’s 82nd year! The festivities officially kick off on June 15th and run through the 18th this year.
For the 82nd year, the city of Emmett will come together, along with people from all over the area, to enjoy a plethora of family oriented events. The festival has so much to offer; parades on Friday and Saturday, concerts, a petting zoo and the Emmett Lions Car Show to name a few. There will be a craft fair and plenty of locally made goods to check out. Have some fun at the carnival that runs throughout the weekend, or relax and watch the Cherry Festival Softball Tourney. Of course the Emmett Cherry Festival wouldn’t be complete without the Cherry Pit Spit and Cherry Pie Eating Contest on Saturday, June 18th.
This will be a big year for the festival after cold weather wiped out Emmett’s cherry orchards in 2015. Cherries had to be brought in from surrounding counties in order to keep the annual festival going. The crops this year are looking good and there will be a lot of local cherries available to sample!
The Emmett Cherry Festival is another wonderful example of the community events that the Treasure Valley has to offer!
