The fall Parade of Homes is a great opportunity to see unique styles and get ideas from the builders themselves about your own renovations.

I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to Rod Givens, the president of Alturas Homes, as well as the chairperson for the BCASWI (Building Contractors Association of Southwestern Idaho).

BCASWI is the group that puts on our Parade of Homes two times a year. We’ve got the fall parade going on right now, and that’s why I’ve invited Rod to chat about what’s going on with it.

Last weekend was the first of three weekends that the fall Parade of Homes will be held. It lasts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Sunday (October 6th, 7th, and 8th of this week, and October 13th, 14th, and 15th of next week).

You can pick up a magazine to see where these fall parades are happening at various locations in the valley. There is also a website, BoiseParadeOfHomes.com, that you can visit on your mobile device or on your computer, which will have a map of the route, pictures of the homes to be featured, and more.

This parade is different from others because this one is for existing inventory. The spring parade is generally for brand-new products that builders develop specifically for the event. The fall event sometimes has new products, but often it’s what the builder has in their inventory already. It's a great opportunity to see what builders do on a regular basis.

Rod thinks that in this fall Parade of Homes you will see a lot of new things—different interior and exterior styles, RV garages, and some really unique stuff. It’s a good time to go if you want to avoid feeling overwhelmed by masses of people and actually get to talk to builders and the real estate agents that represent them. You may also pick up some ideas for your own renovations and catch up on the latest trends.

Remember, if you’re looking for a home or need an evaluation on your current home, reach out to us and let us know if you have any questions. We also have magazines for the Parade of Homes, so don’t forget to swing by and grab a copy from us. We hope to talk to you soon!
