Meet Little! She is a 3-year-old, 62-pound spayed female. We believe she is a mix of Catahoula leopard dog, Australian shepherd, and/or border collie. Little is a bit stressed out in the shelter environment and may seem nervous when you first meet her. Give her time to warm up, and you’ll find that she is a playful and happy girl. She likes hanging out with other people, going for jogs around the neighborhood and playing tug-of-war.
Little gets along with other dogs but should be monitored when she plays with them. She tends to guard her food and her toys, so it may be best if she’s the only dog in the home. We would also recommend that she go to a home with older children that will respect her sensitive nature. Obedience training could be very beneficial in helping her get over her resource-guarding and would also allow an opportunity for you to bond with her. Little is an incredibly intelligent dog that is eager to please. She is house-trained, knows several obedience commands and would love to learn some more tricks and commands! Little will need help losing some weight but giving her plenty of exercise and a modified diet is sure to help her shed a few pounds.
You can meet Little (#23419812) at the Idaho Human Society, 4775 Dorman St. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. Give Little a chance to show you what a truly loving and playful dog she is, and help her find a forever home today!
