My husband and I have been in the process of renovating our 1980's ranch style home for the past year. The kitchen has been our biggest, most time consuming project yet. We refinished and painted our kitchen cabinets, had granite and a large basin sink installed and with the finish line in sight, we came to the backsplash.
Backsplash is the final touch that ties your kitchen together in my opinion, so it was a decision that I really wanted to research. We went to what feels like every tile store in the Boise valley and brought home samples upon samples. I scoured Pinterest and Houzz for ideas every chance that I got. We considered Mosaic tile, colored glass tile, subway tile in a multitude of different patterns, and the list goes on. In the end we choose to do a traditional subway tile and take it throughout our horseshoe shaped kitchen at base cabinet level. We are extremely happy with the final product and my advise would be, trust your gut instinct, we ended up coming back to our initial choice and couldn't be happier with it.
Below I attached photos for ideas, a few articles that I found helpful and also a list of local tile companies here int the Treasure Valley to consider. Happy tiling my fellow kitchen/bathroom renovators!
Being new to the home renovation world we were completely unaware of local tile companies and where to go. With the help of a couple of friends here at our brokerage we were pointed in the right direction. Below are some of the tile shops that we had a good experience with. We ended up purchasing our tile through Great Floors believe it or not, they have an excellent selection and very helpful and friendly associates!
