Today, I’m exploring two great custom homes by Heather Echevarria with Innovative Custom Homes.
This first property is still in phase one. Heather and her team have gone through and demolished all of the interior walls. As you can see in the video, this home has a very open floor plan right now.
Phase two begins once they get the construction permits. At that point, they will rebuild this home and add a second story and attached garage. The home has also been rearranged with a new backyard. Instead of facing 36th Street, the front of the home now opens up to a side street. That is much safer for the future owners, as they won’t have to back out into a busy street anymore.
Check out the video for a more in-depth look at this home.
When we visited the second property on 21st Street, the home was still in phase two, aka the drywall phase. This house started out as a 1930s, single-level home with a detached garage. Heather and her team took the home down to the studs, got rid of all the lead-based paint, and added brand-new siding, as well as a brand-new second story. They even refinished the basement.
Once this house was completed, it ended up at just over 3,100 square feet. The new second story includes three bedrooms, a laundry room, and a bathroom. The master suite is on the main level, along with a guest suite or home office. The kitchen and living room have also been completely redone. At the end of the day, this home has six potential bedrooms, as the home theater in the basement can change into a child’s play area or bedroom.
A project like this usually takes around six to seven months. Phase one usually takes about two months to demo the property, and phase two usually takes around four months.
Heather has been remodeling homes since 1999. For awhile they moved into new construction, but Innovative Custom Homes has come back to its roots with these remodels.
The 21st Street property now features beautiful landscaping, lighting, and a cool firepit in the backyard. The house sits on 0.25 acres, which allows plenty of room for RV parking. The new floors are recycled PVC flooring, which comes with a lifetime warranty. The kitchen has beautiful white quartz countertops and chrome fixtures, and the basement has amazing new carpeting.
Heather is very proud of this project. The 21st Street property is listed at just under $700,000. You can learn more about the listing here.
Meanwhile, be on the lookout for that first home that used to be on 36th Street.
Heather and her team truly do a fantastic job on these properties. If you would like to learn more about Innovative Custom Homes, check out their website.
